I am super excited to tell you that in 2012 we will have monthly meetings! We have the building every third Tuesday of the month. There are so many things we need to be learning, this will give us the perfect opportunity! It will also help us develop our friendships quicker, because we will see each other more often! Hope to see you there!

Gifts-in-a-jar Butterscotch Apple Cookies -Food Storage

These are food storage cookies. The ingredients are pretty much all food storage except for the butter and maybe butterscotch chips. If you don't have egg powder, just substitute 1 egg and take off the 2 Tablespoons of water in the final directions.

Butterscotch Apple Cookies
makes 4 dozen
Makes 1 (1-Quart) Jar
1 1/2 C whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 T. dry egg powder
3/4 C brown sugar
1 C butterscotch chips
1 C dried apples, chopped
1. Pour flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and egg powder into quart jar. Mix together in jar (saves a dish-who wants to do this in a separate bowl? I’m all about assembly lines and no dishes to wash at the end) with a spoon. Then add the rest of the ingredients in the following order: brown sugar, chips and apples. Close jar.
2. Decorate jar and attach gift tag/recipe card. (Which of course, I designed for you and you can download below!)

Butterscotch Apple Cookies
1/2 C butter, softened
1/2 C peanut butter
2 T. water
1 jar Butterscotch Apple Cookie Mix
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Beat butter and peanut butter in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until smooth. Add water and jar mix. Beat until well blended. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto baking sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool and remove to wire rack and cool completely.
