I am super excited to tell you that in 2012 we will have monthly meetings! We have the building every third Tuesday of the month. There are so many things we need to be learning, this will give us the perfect opportunity! It will also help us develop our friendships quicker, because we will see each other more often! Hope to see you there!

Gifts-in-a-jar Dreaming of a White Christmas

So this soup had to be great, it had a great name good ingredients, but I was disappointed in it. It needed a little something else. Maybe carrots, onions, peas, something a little sweet. I'm listing it because a good cook would know what to do to make it great instead of just OK. So if you figure it out please tell me what it needs!  * I also can't find celery flakes, that could be the difference, I used 2 tsp of celery seeds instead.

Dreaming of a White Christmas Soup Mix
1 package (2.75 ounces) country gravy mix
2 tablespoons chicken bouillon granules
2 tablespoons dried minced onion
2 tablespoons dried celery flakes
2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
2 1/2 to 3 cups uncooked wide egg noodles  or other pasta
Pour gravy mix into wide-mouth quart jar. In small bowl, stir together bouillon granules, onion, celery and parsley. Pour into jar to make second layer. Add noodles. Close with lid; attach gift tag and decorate.
Gift tag directions:
 In a large pot bring 8 cups of water to a boil.
 Empty contents of jar into boiling water. Boil
 for about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium;
 add one 10-ounce or two 6-ounce cans
 cooked and chopped chicken. Cover and
 simmer for 5 to 6 minutes or until noodles are
 tender, stirring occasionally.
