I am super excited to tell you that in 2012 we will have monthly meetings! We have the building every third Tuesday of the month. There are so many things we need to be learning, this will give us the perfect opportunity! It will also help us develop our friendships quicker, because we will see each other more often! Hope to see you there!

Gifts-in-a-jar Ranger Cookies

These were pretty good, but I think younger kids would enjoy them the most. I also used margarine instead of shortening, so I think that is why they spread out so much.

Ranger Cookie Mix

1 1/4 C flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 C fruit flavored crisp rice cereal (Fruity Pebbles)
2/3 C brown sugar
1/3 C shredded coconut
1 C fruit flavored crisp rice cereal
Layer in jar in the order listed, you might have to press each layer down to fit it all in.
On tag:

1 Jar Ranger Cookie Mix
1/3 C shortening
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 T Milk
1 tsp vanilla

Preheat the oven to 375. In a large bowl, cream the shortening, egg, milk, and vanilla, add the cookie mix. Stir until the mixture is well blended. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. bake for 8 or 9 minutes or until cookie edges are golden brown.
I layered this one upside down, Which made the flour fall down and cover some of the cereal.
